The Holidays Begin!

Pictures from Blakes Birthday Above! From top and left to right: Blake opening his new train set, Blake getting ready to smack his pinata, Blake running to get candy, Rachel, Luke, and Natalie loving the pinata show, Uncle Erik and Blake busting th pinata, Grandfather Vance, Grandmother Kelly, and Rachel (Blake's Mommy)

It has been such a big couple of weeks with Blake's (my precious nephew) third birthday, family from Texas in town, and Erik and I's enormous Thanksgiving celebrations with lunch at his parent's and then dinner at my family's home. I must say that I am exhausted! But of course...not too exhausted to focus on my current project of decorating our house with all my Christmas decor! This really is my favorite time of year.

I am now in my 14th week and second trimester and feeling great! Still a bit tired at the end of the day, but still working nonstop and finding time for the gym/yoga! Just a few days ago I receiced my "at home fetal doppler machine" and I am thrilled. In case you are wondering, it is a small machine that allows you to hear your baby's heartbeat in the comfort of your own home. I am loving the fact that it works so well and it really gives me peace of mind in the days in between each doctor's appointment. At least until I feel that baby kick and move on a daily basis. Not sure that is going to be any time soon since I am just not showing all that much yet. I probably could not sound more like a first time mom! I definitely recommend it to any expecting mothers. You can find your own at http://www.babybeat.com/! About $22.00 per month and free shipping...can't beat that! Just to share...Erik suprised me with a gorgeous necklace that has an enormous blue topaz stone! The gift was given to me because my eyes are blue, but I think it is also giving us good luck for a boy! He would be happy with boy or girl, but I know he would really love a boy first! I could care less either way...just a healthy and happy baby is perfect for me!

Update on Baby Growth! This week's big developments: our baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. He/she can grasp, too, and if I had an ultrasound now, I could even catch him/her sucking its thumb. Baby is stretching out. From head to bottom, it measures 3 1/2 inches and weighs 2.5 ounces.
Its Friday...ready for a nice, long weekend of Christmas shopping! Only twenty more days until our big trip to Austin!
